Welcome to Peacechild!
The seeds of my work as a photographer were planted long ago, in this snapshot of my younger brother, Jonathan, and me:
My mother took this picture of the two of us stuffed together into a swing at the park. I love how it captures two siblings, entirely comfortable with themselves and each other, in a moment of pure happiness. I can’t look at it without smiling and thinking how much I loved that little guy in the adorable glasses.
Jonathan had severe cerebral palsy, and he will always be my hero for the joyful, loving way he lived his life. Sitting with Jonathan and holding his hand made me so happy and peaceful–the same kind of feeling I hope to give Peacechild families. Photography sessions can be stressful, but they don’t have to be. We’ll work together to come up with a plan that brings out the best in everyone.
Jonathan passed away a few years ago, but his example continues to inspire me every day. He taught me that beautiful works of art lie within all people, and my goal is to bring those works of art to life by creating images that make people smile–even decades later– remembering a special moment with someone they love.
